Dr. Peretz Grader Award
The Dr. Peretz Grader Award is given by the society to a IGS member aged below 36, for an original work in Earth Sciences published in the two year preceding the award. Dr Peretz Grader, a former society member, was the manager of Oil Resources in the Government of Israel Development Office and manager of the Oil Resources division of the Geological Survey of Israel. Dr. Grader died in an air crash in Iran in the performance of his professional work. The award committee consists of: President or Vice President of the IGS, Head of the Institute of Earth Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (or his representative), and the Director of the Geological Survey of Israel (or his representative). The names of proposed candidates should be referred to the President of the IGS.
