IGS membership is open to anyone interested in Earth Sciences and related scientific and technological fields. Membership includes all activities of the IGS, including subscription to the Israel Journal of Earth Sciences. The membership is conditional on payment of the annual registration fee, which serves as the principal means of funding the activities of the IGS.

The Israel journal of earth sciences appears as four issues a year and contains scientific papers in English. The journal is distributed to libraries in Israel and throughout the world. The journal publishes new papers, after professional review, in all fields of the Earth Sciences concern with Israel and it's surrounding. From time to time the journal publishes special issues on specific subjects.

The information center includes an abstract archive of lectures and posters presented at the Annual Meetings of the IGS, links to other sites of interest to Earth Sciences and image gallery containing photos, figures and maps.
